Extreme Makeover: Literacy Bus Edition! 🚍📚
We’re thrilled to share a heartwarming transformation story straight from our District! Thanks to the incredible vision and dedication of our Transportation Director, Brandon Caldwell, our beloved Literacy Bus has received a stunning makeover — and it’s more beautiful than ever!
One of the most exciting traditions of the Literacy Bus is to park alongside our Summer Lunch Program, giving students the opportunity to grab a free book and keep their love of reading alive all summer long.
But after years of service, the bus was ready for a refresh — and what a transformation it’s been!
With the help of generous donations and a community full of heart, the Literacy Bus has been completely remodeled for Darnea Lamb, her amazing team, and most importantly, our students.
A huge shoutout to the dream team that made this possible:
Signify Graphics and the Madison Education Foundation – for their eye-catching exterior graphics and generous donations
Kelsey Shumway and her talented MHS Interior Design students – for bringing the inside of the bus to life!
Our incredible mechanics and drivers – who rolled up their sleeves to build custom shelves and make essential repairs to get the bus in top shape!
We were honored to unveil the new Literacy Bus to the incredible people who work tirelessly to promote reading and support our students. This is more than a makeover — it’s a celebration of community, creativity, and the power of literacy.
