Carolyn Broadbent is over the 5th graders and has been working hard to create unique opportunities for the students to learn hands-on! She is so proud of her students and has tons of fun with them! Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, Madison High School’s AP Government class traveled to Boise State University to participate in the Frank Church Institute High School Model United Nations. Our 28 students represented the countries of Ethiopia, Israel, and the United Arab Emirates on five different committees as well as one group representing the UAE on the Security Council.
On Saturday, the students from Madison were awarded the overall “Best Delegation!!” Several individual students were also recognized:
· Anya Kay – (representing Ethiopia) author of the “Best Resolution” in the General Assembly: Market and Trade Committee
· Ben Clawson – (representing the UAE) author of the “Best Resolution” in the General Assembly: International Security Committee
· Isaac Muldowney – (representing the UAE) “Best Position Paper” in the United Nation Human Rights Committee
· Alicia Min – (representing the UAE) “Outstanding Delegate” in the General Assembly: Environmental Sustainability Committee
· Jackson Chenault – (representing the UAE) “Best Delegate” in the United Nations Security Council
· Jacob Woodward – (representing Israel) “Outstanding Delegate” in the United Nations Human Rights Committee

Madison Cares and Madison School District are excited to bring you part two of our Parent Night presentations. These presentations are free for all school district families and staff. On the night of February 1st, we will be providing two different presentations, one in English and one in Spanish. Each presentation is approximately one hour long. If you are not able to attend the live presentation, please still register. If you register and are unable to watch the presentation live, you will be sent an email with a link to the presentation so you can watch it at your convenience.

We have a new Director of Food Services!! Jordyn Bybee 😄 She is going to do a fantastic job! Not only is she a hard worker, she's also incredibly kind and a wonderful person. The Lunch Ladies all came out to support Jordyn and celebrate her by having a potluck! They gave her a funny gift that said "Managing Dummies" 😂 and played games. Last night at the school board meeting, the Madison School District Board of Trustees approved the 2024/2025 school calendar.

Want to get certified in Mental Health First Aid? These FREE courses teach how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use challenges. Upon completion, participants are certified as MHFA first responders for three years.
The course focusing on mental health in ADULTS will be taught by Travis Schwab and Rick Croft, and will be held Monday, January 29 and Tuesday, January 30 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm both days. This is a two-day course, and attendance is required all 8 hours to receive certification.
