It's time to end Homecoming week with a BANG, or in other words, OUR HOCO PARADE! Nothing screams school spirt like this parade! Pull on your red shirt and bring the kids out to come support our BOBCAT NATION!
***The route starts in front of the Madison Education Center (former Jr. High 60 West Main), goes down Main street and turns down 3rd East (west side of smith park)

We wanted to let Hibbard parents know that 1st-4th grades will be going to the Homecoming Parade on Friday. Kindergarteners will not attend the parade but have lots of fun activities planned for them to enjoy.
We will eat early then load the buses around 11:10. 4th graders are in the parade representing Hibbard so they will leave right at 11:00. The parade starts at 12:00. Students will return to the school by 1:15. Students must remain with their class the entire time. Parents will not be allowed to take their children from the parade or sit with their class. If you’d like to attend with your child please pick them up from the school before 11:00.

Parent-Teacher Conference is next week, September 28th & 29th from 3:30-6:30. We have sent the Parent-Teacher Conference Sign Up out. Madison School District is excited to announce the district wide implementation of a new anonymous tip line to report bullying, violence, drugs or harm. The program is called SEE, TELL, NOW!
There are THREE ways to make a report. Go to www.seetellnow.org to explore and become familiar with them all!
When you SEE something, TELL someone, NOW!
SEE
When you are in and around your school, simply be aware of your surroundings. You may notice something that doesn’t seem right, looks odd or is simply out of the ordinary.
TELL
Tell someone at your school or call the police – but tell someone. We want to know what’s happening at your school, and your observations are important
NOW
Do it NOW. Don’t wait, don’t hesitate. If something looks out of place to you, it likely is. When it comes to the safety of our children, it’s always a better idea to be safe rather than sorry.

Hibbard’s 4th graders had a lesson from Sergeant Holt about the flag today. They learned how to respectfully treat and fold the flag. This is great training for our 4th graders who are responsible for posting and retrieving the flag for our school.

Don't miss this fundraising opportunity for our Bobcat Cheerleaders!
We know many look forward to this each year for their little ones! Be sure to share and/or tag any who may be interested! #wearemadison

We take your child's attendance at school seriously! So serious, in fact, that if your child was marked absent yesterday, our system called ALL of the phone numbers in your child's file to let them know! :-/ (face palm) When we get the kinks worked out, parents will receive a text and an e-mail from the school informing them of an unverified absence. Elementary age between 9-9:30 am and Jr/High between 6-6:30pm. Our apologize to you (and your emergency contacts who received the call) as we are navigating a new system! We appreciate your patience!

Hello Bobcat Nation!
We hope you enjoyed the long (hot) holiday weekend!
We continue to encounter unusually high temperatures this time of year. As a result, the National Weather Service has issued a “heat advisory” for our area until Wednesday, September 7, at 9 p.m.
We have been closely monitoring this advisory along with consulting neighboring districts.
Below are things being done district-wide to beat the heat:
* 9 of our 12 buildings have operating air conditioning that is running
* Windows are being propped open in the early morning hours to cool off our classrooms
* HVAC fans are running to pull heat out of the buildings
* Teachers are encouraging and providing the added opportunity for students to hydrate often
* Bus windows and roof hatches are being left open as students ride the bus
* All busses allow and are encouraging students to bring a water bottle while riding
We want to assure you that classroom temps are being monitored by district staff during this extended heatwave. The safety of our staff and students remains our highest priority.
With Wednesday slotted to be the hottest day for parents/caregivers, we recommend you send your students with a water bottle and dress in light, loose-fitting clothing.
We will continue to monitor the situation as it unfolds and communicate any changes to affected students/parents/staff.
As always, parents have the right to keep their children home if they believe it is unsafe to send them to school.
Stay cool, Bobcats! Fall will be upon us soon! #wearemadison
