The PTO wants to remind you that Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week is May 5- 9th! Thanks to your generous support of our PTO fundraiser this year, the PTO board has organized a fantastic "Thanks for helping us Bloom" teacher appreciation week for our teachers. We encourage you to help your student reflect on the teachers and staff who have helped them grow this year.
Pictured is what we will be doing at school to show our appreciation each day next week. Teachers love receiving heartfelt pictures or handwritten notes from the kids! If you'd love to add a "favorites" item to that thank-you note, the PTO has surveyed the teachers and made a list of their favorite treats and places to shop/eat out. Please see your email for the link to the "Faculty Favorites" list.

We surprised our school resource officer, Deputy Bills, today with hand made cards and thank you notes from our students. He thought he was coming to judge our Friday morning tradition of doing the 1962 classic "Chicken Fat" song. The class that gets the most "in to it" it gets to keep the coveted squeaking chicken in their room that week. We decided to change it up a bit this week and take the opportunity to show Deputy Bills how much we appreciate all he does to keep our school safe. He frequently hangs out with students during recess and spends time in their classes. He works hard to build relationships with them and they know he is someone who protects and cares for them. Thank you Deputy Bills! We really do appreciate you!

2nd grade had a special visit from Madison High School's FFA! The students were able to have interactive experiences and learn about the hard work farmers do to provide for our community!

Brandon Mull, author of the Fablehaven book series, visited our 3rd and 4th graders on Monday. He told them the story of how he came to be an author, answered questions about what it's like to be an author, and had students do an imagination exercise to create a story. It was a great experience for our students.
