TITLE X-C EDUCATION FOR HOMELESS CHILDREN AND YOUTH (EHCY) PROGRAM

A student who: Lacks a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence, i.e., doubled up, hotel, camper, living in car, shelter, or lacks adequate housing are provided a free, appropriate public education.

Stewart B. McKinney Homeless Assistance Act is designed to address the problems that homeless children and youth have faced in enrolling, attending, and succeeding in school

• Right to immediate enrollment even when records not present

• Right to remain in the school of origin, if in the student’s best interest

• School lunch is automatic Support for academic success: MSD has partnerships with Desert Industries, Idaho Food Bank, and other organizations to assist in eliminating any possible barriers to a student’s education. Our program also can assist students with school fees & uniforms, school supplies, etc.
