I was born and raised on a farm in Salmon, Idaho. I come from a family of eight children. After graduating from high school, I moved to Rexburg where I obtained an Associates Degree from Ricks College.
While raising a family, I earned a Bachelor's Degree from Lewis-Clark State College, and began my teaching career at Burton in
1998. I love teaching and working with children.
In 2011, I earned a Master's Degree in Education with an emphasis in Literacy, from Idaho State University.
I am married to Stephen Burt. We keep busy with ten children and twenty-one grandchildren. Some of my hobbies are enjoying time with family, traveling, family history, reading, camping, hiking, riding Razors in the mountains, quilting, and needlework.

I have taught for many years and the question that has been asked  many times is "Why do you teach?"  Every time I answer that it is the LOVE for the kidlets that drives me each and every day!  Their smile, the things they say, their laugh, their struggles, their joy at triumphing the hard stuff.   I get to enjoy each day.  Who wouldn't want this job?!  I am a mother of four AWESOME children, two adorable dogs, two classroom ferrets, and more cats than I can count.  I LOVE the outdoors: swimming, kayaking, floating, hiking, backpacking, camping, traveling, running, and basking in the sun.  BUT it has to be with my family!  I feel very privileged to have children that attend and have attended Burton Elementary and for me to work here.  Burton is an amazing place!
