My favorite thing about teaching, besides the students, is watching their eyes light up when they get an "ah ha" moment.

I am an Idaho girl born and bred with time out to live in Colorado, Utah, Texas, and Minnesota.  I enjoy camping with my family.  I like hiking in the woods, unless there are bears around.  I also, enjoy reading very much.

I have been teaching in the Madison School District at Burton Elementary since 2017. My favorite subjects are music, language arts, and social studies. I love teaching because it allows me to spend every day learning and growing with the children I'm working with.

I feel so lucky to be able to work with such amazing and supportive people, as well as spend all of my days working with children. Connecting with the students is my favorite part of the job.

I love to play the piano, sing, and paint. I am married and have one sister.

Over the years, I have earned an Associate’s degree in English Literature and a Bachelor of Science in Education.

I come from a military family so I claim a little bit of everywhere in America, but most recently I lived and taught in Las Vegas. Growing up on the move, I gained a deep love of books because I could take them with me to my new environment. Now as a teacher, I strive to fill my classroom with every genre of literature, so that I may offer my students a chance to learn and explore different ideas, places, and people throughout history.

A few of my hobbies include playing the cello (which I love to bring into the classroom), singing opera, experimenting with scientific concepts, reading (I usually have a book in my purse at all times), and walking with my two puppies around the neighborhood. I also love to travel and experience more of the world. My favorite city to visit is Prague because the architecture makes me feel like I’ve traveled back in time.

I was born and raised in North Carolina. I moved to Rexburg in 2007 for school, and have been here ever since! I graduated from BYU-I in Elementary Education and WGU with a masters in Curriculum and Instruction.

A couple of my favorite subjects to teach are art and math. When I’m not teaching, I LOVE to be outside in my garden, in my kitchen cooking, or anywhere with my daughter.
