My favorite thing about teaching, besides the students, is watching their eyes light up when they get an "ah ha" moment.

I am an Idaho girl born and bred with time out to live in Colorado, Utah, Texas, and Minnesota.  I enjoy camping with my family.  I like hiking in the woods, unless there are bears around.  I also, enjoy reading very much.

I was born and raised in Southern California. I moved to Rexburg in 2014 to attend college. I graduated from BYU-I in Early Childhood/ Special Education.

I am grateful to be teaching at Burton and to work with such wonderful teachers.  I love teaching and developing meaningful relationships with my students. A few of my favorite subjects are reading, art, and language arts.

My husband and I enjoy anything outdoors. We love to go camping, biking, swimming and sometimes hiking. Idaho has definitely become a wonderful home.

I live in Hibbard with my husband, four children, ten horses, three cats, and one dog. Our family loves to play outdoors - hiking, biking, horse riding, camping, fishing, boating, four wheeling, swimming, sledding, and snowboarding. My personal hobbies also include playing sports such as volleyball and pickleball, gardening, reading, and (of course) learning and teaching.

I first knew I wanted to be a teacher as an elementary student, organizing my mother's classroom library and decorating her bulletin boards. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from BYU-Idaho, and I earned a master's degree in Education with an Emphasis in Reading and Literacy while I was teaching 3rd grade at Kennedy Elementary. I was asked to teach future teachers at BYU-Idaho. Eventually, I transferred to teaching online classes for BYU-Idaho and PathwayConnect - classes like Children's Literature, English, Math, and other classes that students need to take to be successful learners. I was an online professor for over 10 years, and I loved it.

I am excited to be in an elementary classroom again. I feel lucky that my "work" day consists of sharing my favorite books and discovering the magic of math with my wide eyed and eager learners.
