I’m excited to be teaching First Grade again!  I’m looking forward to another great year at Burton!

My husband and I have a cute puppy and we enjoy spending all the time we can together.  I enjoy reading, being outside, and cooking.

I have been teaching at Burton Elementary since 2017 and I have loved every minute of it. I love teaching because of the relationships I am able to create with my students. I love learning about my students personalities and how to connect with them each individually. There is nothing better than coming to work and hanging out with your best friends all day. I love learning new things and teaching helps me accomplish that every day!

I grew up in the small town of Preston, Idaho where I learned to love anything and everything outdoors. My family spent most of our summers outside camping, hiking and fishing together. I come from a family of 4 kids, most of us recently married. I met and married my husband while attending BYU-Idaho for my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Special Education. Some of my hobbies include hiking, crafting, gardening, and reading books.

I chose to teach because I love being part of the journey that every child goes through as they learn in school. I always strive to help my students become confident learners and know that education opens so many doors to their future.

I was born in Portugal and raised in the countries of Portugal and Germany until I moved to Idaho. I graduated from BYU-Idaho in Elementary Education. My favorite subjects in school were Social Studies and German. My family and I enjoy outdoor activities such as camping, hiking and swimming. We also love to travel!

I am grateful for the opportunity to be a teacher and parent in Madison School District. It has been a privilege to teach and interact with so many delightful students over the years, and I look forward to working with your precious children.  It is very rewarding to be a part of the incredible progress that first-graders make in one short year as they develop a love of learning while building a strong foundation in reading and math.  Every day is “A Great Day to be a First-Grader!”

I am an Idaho native and call Rexburg home.  I love the change of seasons and look forward to the beauty each one brings.  My husband and I have two daughters that keep us very busy and fill our lives with boundless joy and excitement.  We love to travel and experience new adventures together.  Our family enjoys being outdoors and keeping a large garden.
