Team 5-4

Miss Thompson

Heidi Thompson

I was born and raised right here in Rexburg, Idaho. In fact I was even assigned to team 5-1 when I was in fifth grade! I love the outdoors, and can be caught fishing and four wheeling whenever I can get out and do it!  I love working hard and playing hard, I expect my students to work just as hard and have just as fun as I do. One of my skills is being very organized, I also expect my students to be as well. This year will be so fun as we will be engaged, responsible, and always learning!

Why was the math book sad?

(Because it had too many problems!)

I believe in having fun in school. When I was a kid, I hated school, so I went in to teaching to make education fun. I hope you are as excited about learning as I am. I was born and raised right here in Rexburg. I graduated from Madison High School, Ricks College, BYU, and went on to get a Masters degree. I currently live in Burton. My husband and I have 3 children of our own. All of them have graduated from Madison, the finest district in Idaho.

I taught at Hibbard Elementary for 10 years. I loved Hibbard, but felt it was time to move to the middle school. I love it here too. I now get to teach math on our team. When I am not in school I love to read. I love fiction and fairy tales and using my imagination. I am a farm girl at heart and we have goats, cows, and a cat. I have driven bicycles, cars, pick-ups, tractors, and spud trucks. My husband and I love touring around on the motorcycle as well. But most of all, I love to keep learning. We will have an awesome school year!

I was born and raised in Southeastern Idaho.  I attended Ricks College, BYU-Provo, and finished my teaching degree through Lewis-Clark State College. I received my Master's degree in 2009 from Idaho State University. My husband and I raised four wonderful children and now we have nine beautiful grand-children with one more expected in the fall.  I began teaching at Madison Middle School in 1997 as a 5th grade Health Encore Teacher. I have taught fifth grade for 18 years.  I love it!  I have always said that if I could afford to, I would teach for free. I love being with the children and seeing the growth and the learning that takes place.  I like to laugh and I get a big kick out of the 5th graders and their amazing personalities. I love to ride horses, be in the mountains, and write stories, poems, and songs.  I love to read and cook and do crafts.
